Description Pont d'Espagne is a stone bridge, at an altitude of 1500m, near Cauterets, in the Pyrénées National Park, in the département des Hautes-Pyrénées. The bridge was built on the Gave de Marcadau at the point where it meets the Gave de Gaube.
The name of the bridge mean : Bridge of Spain, because it was used to join the border with Spain through the mountains.

Pont d'Espagne est un pont de pierre situé à près de 1500m d'altitude, sur le territoire de la commune de Cauterets, dans le Parc National des Pyrénées, et dans le département des Hautes-Pyrénées.
 Erigé sur le Gave de Marcadau à sa confluence avec le Gave de Gaube, il doit son nom au fait qu'il servait de passage en direction de la frontière espagnole, à travers les Pyrénées

Those wild waters are always epic. Also I thought the Pyrenees don´t have so much green, cause they are in the south,
but I was wrong XD

The French side of the Pyrénées is very green (except perhaps in the Roussillon), however the Spanish side is less humide (except in western Navarra).

South Gascogne and French Basque country are the most rainy place of France to be fair

Only the upper part of Alsace, at the east of the Vosges, because all the rain mainly go to the western part of the Vosges.

And Alsace is a "cuvette" between the Vosges and the Schwarzwald, so rain can't go here as easily.


At the contrary Gascogne and Basque country are near the Ocean, and the rain are stopped by the Pyrénées, that's why it's the more humide place of France. Even the Alps are less humide, because the Mediterranea is less cold than the Ocean ^^
