"HNM?" Fox looked back, Basil has to hold back a muffled giggle.
"yoh' gunna eat et?"

Fox stopped, turning his head fully to the side. His brows furrowed as to why his cub would think that.
"Share!" Basil peeped, forcing fox to gently remove the egg from his maw.
"No eat, New playmate... er.." He paused to think, "Sibling."
"OOOOooooohhhhh, that much bettur den eating! ...Babies come from eggies?" To Fox who nodded. "Dun swallow on acciden' then, Dad!"
Fox smiled, rubbing his snout against his cub's cheek. His maw returned to the Egg, picking it up as before.

Basil beamed at the egg every chance he could during the walk home, very excited and hoping his new sibling would arrive very soon.
