The best part of the image is the distinction between the foreground and background. The depth of field is just shallow enough so that the background is interesting but not distracting. I think the fact that it was shot on a hill so that the foreground drops off suddenly helps.
The composition is good, but could be improved. I feel as if there is too much room on the left side. Cropping it out would make a big difference.
You captured Scout in a good pose. Her mouth is shut and she looks focused. Cropping the image would also accentuate the direction she is looking.
The photo is overexposed. The shadow detail is great, but too much highlight information is missing. If you can't bring any back by editing, I would shoot darker next time and lighten the shadows after the fact.
