Its Spuddie again! and SO OLD! - drawn 2006There's alot that could be improved on this piece.. and I mean, a lot!
The photo used was from a show, His face is actually longer then this, but i completed the bridle first [was only a practice piece] and when adding the markings under his eye, I realised i'd lopped off about an inch of his face >.<
I didnt want to have a thick black smudged outline, so I used the bridle to 'lift' it out. Doesnt look quite like the actual sketch [scanners for you ¬_¬]
He does look quite evil, but thats because hes rolling his eyes.. [yes, really!]

I think you managed very well! It doesn't really show that you drew his face shorter than it is...^^
It would be nice to finish the neck, maybe.... otherwise, it's a very nice drawing!

Thanks. The piece is several years old now. The neck was left unfinished due to the angle of my horse. It would have ended up looking very flat if it was completed.

To be honest i dont remember now! It was so long ago. Although i would love to do another of him sometime as my 'techniques' are a little better since then - and do it on better paper!

Rescue, Therapy and Rehab is a very close subject to my heart after having first hand experience as a main leader of a therapy yard for several years. Horse's deserve so much more respect and kindness then they are given by so many these days

The scan of it is fine, My horse os grey so it didnt need a thick heavy outline.
