Theres a building both infront and behind the bridge. The long end of the lense brings everything a bit closer together so it looks a bit like it's under the bridge.

Fabulous. Too often Newcastle is simply pictured as the Tyne Bridge with a bunch of great north runners, and people think that's it. This, on the other hand, is the REAL Newcastle. I love this city!

What a fascinating, ancient-looking section of city. What first caught my attention was the unusual... bridge (?) in the background. I love the work the telephoto's done to compress the layers and emphasize the cluttered nature of the city block. There's also an anomaly I picked out in the background. It looks like nothing so much as an arrow pointing at a skylight. At the bottom of the right side of the bridge. Probably just an antenna or something, but it's kinda funny my eye landed on that pretty quickly.

The arch in the background is the underside of a railway bridge leading into central station. I eventually found the arrow you mentioned, lol! Hadn't noticed that before. Thanks alot man, you always make good descriptive comments.
