I like the colorings and the shadings,this artwork looks indeed full of life ^^
I thought Shaan was the little kid zora and it was his father who play with him,having the same accesory he is going to have as older,but I guess that a father can't be a extrem look alike as him (I only think he looked bit older and different in the face,thats why) XD So I guess the adult one is Shaan himself? I guess the kid is your friends character then?

Nope, Shaan is the adult, he's babysitting my friend's character. Who has tied wings onto his toy fish and is now claiming it's the Windfish, who beats all (in the battle of OoT vs TP Zoras, of which he is neither)!
Hmm, I don't remember if I've ever actually drawn his parents, hmm...

I love drawing Zoras myself.
Not that I could make them as fancy as you of course.
I'm not exactly skilled with digital media.
And I don't have a scanner :/
Most of my recent art are pictures taken with my phone.

I usually draw digitally start to finish, but I've been known to use a camera to 'scan' things, too.
