I had motivation for once. Wow!

Oh yeah! Also if you'd like to critique my art, please feel free to! I've really been trying hard to improve recently, so critiques are really appreciated!

Let's start with the pros of this beautiful piece!
This is truly a very appealing piece to look at let me just start with that. I love the use of dark colors but not dark enough to make it seem dull. There's a definite draw to the 'stand by' bar in front of the characters eyes which then allowed the eyes to travel down the piece to the television and then outward. The pose is in most aspects original, especially taking into account the extra limbs which offer a sense of curiosity. It really makes me wonder what and who the character is and why exactly they're put into this state in this piece. I also like your use of thick and thin lines to distinguish outer and inner parts of the character which is a technique I think many artists love to use as it adds depth to their art. I also like where you clearly wanted to take this piece, and you achieved that! The vision, in my opinion, was met well. Overall a very stunning piece of work.

Now let's move on to some cons/constructive criticism
Although the pose itself is fairly original I feel like it could have been executed to look a bit smoother in areas. Places like the tail just sticking out of the side of him seems not quite natural. This may have been your vision to have the tail sticking out to the side but it just doesn't seem to match the flow of the drawing, as everything else is very natural and pleasing to the eye. Next is the impact of the piece. Impact is of course when an art piece makes me sit back and think about something or leave a lasting impression. However I don't believe that was exactly your intention, so it's completely okay. Not all art has to have some profound message on it and this piece looks absolutely stunning either way. Even so, the message on the television does make me wonder what exactly it's talking about and if it has to do with the character or just life in general. This could have a good amount of impact to some.

Again, overall this piece is incredibly stunning and very well done. The background is beautiful and you clearly spent your time wisely on the different parts of this drawing. I would LOVE to see more of your art in the future <3

Scowl, first let me say that this is absolutely amazing. When I go through my endless subscriptions, I can only afford to check what catches my eye, and this has done it. Going on to the evaluation:

Vision:
You have taken a simple, song-based idea, and have taken it to the next level. I look at this and feel like you must have really accomplished what you had attempted to do.

Originality: I have seen several drawings like this before, but they were mainly put in a psychedelic view. You took it a different direction by changing it to more of a dark, and for lack of better words, emo perspective, instead of relying on many colors, you stayed with muted colors, giving it a very different feel.

Technique: It looks very good. The colors and character are in complete synchronization. I can't see this as the same without the beautiful splash of background you have added. I also think that that in itself is a bonus. I don't think this would look quite as nice with a completely filled-in background. Way to go! I do think that you might possibly add a little more contrast in the future! That's unnecessary, but I think it would boost the effect.

Impact:

I LOVE this. This is a work of art. It caught my eye, and the beautiful anatomy and the way it was laid together and formatted made it even more beautiful than I could imagine myself doing. The colors come together so nicely, and make the 'broken screen' in front of the eyes really pop out. Good job.
