Description "O Oysters, come and walk with us!"
The Walrus did beseech.
A pleasant walk, a pleasant talk
Along the briny beach.

Part of an artist challenge/project thingy of pairing an animal with something it's associated with started by !

Having the Latin name of the animal and working in 3x3 dimension was part of the project spec's. A bunch of other people have done some so you may notice them pop up from time to time!

Hey, it's Rotor from "Sonic the Hedgehog!"

That's one well-drawn walrus, dude!

Everyone and their brother makes antros based on pretty animals like tigers and wolves, but it really takes talent to make one based on a walrus. And seriously, what's not to love about a walrus in overalls?

The time has come, the walrus said,
to talk of many things.
Of shoes and ships and sealing wax,
of cabbages and kings.

I adore Alice in Wonderland (and Through the Looking Glass), but the first thing I thought of when I saw this was "I Am The Walrus" (which, actually, happens to have been based on The Walrus and the Carpenter, at least a little.)

Okay, I'm done now... >.>

ITS AMAZING!
Its like you can draw every single animal out there.
I MEAN WOW.

And the alice and wonderland thing is gold.
But it took me awhile. >_<
(I tried putting a walrus and a hammer together and no lightbulb was coming up)

All i got was a hammerhead walrus.
(brick gets chucked at head)

I don't see how a walrus is associated with DIY.

It's the poem The Walrus and the Carpenter-- only in this, the walrus is the carpenter.

Oohhh It's by Lewis Carrol-- the guy who wrote Alice and Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. They made a song out of it in the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland... messed with the words though It's basically about a walrus and a carpenter, who trick a bunch of oysters and eat them.

I think they said something to that effect in Dogma-- I can see it as a possibility, too-- but I think I also heard somewhere that that's not what he intended when writing it. So, I dunno...

Ah, that's a fun poem you quoted.

I must say, I love your mix of the human and animal in these, and all of your drawings. It's exactly the right proportions... Makes the artwork ever so much more fun Keep it up!
