Huuuuh. I'm really sick of looking at this thing. Worked on it basically non-stop last weekend, and today. I'm really not satisfied with it (to the point of tearing it up and throwing it at something, if I could), but... eh. It had to be done. I've definitely not done the story or the characters any justice.. poor Austen must be turning in her grave!And guess who just flipped the image and decided to hate it even more?
Might go into scraps, if I ever get around to it. Critique discouraged because I don't want to open that file again (perfectionist side would come through, there)... even though I'd really like someone to jump up and point out all the mistakes so I know they're obvious. Note to self: Learn to draw the subject before taking on a project involving them.
(If no one could tell, I'm in a really cruddy mood. So.. sorry if I snap at anyone... don't take it personally, please. I really shouldn't be showing it through a picture description, lol.)

Well you've got the mood and lighting down pat, if anything I'd just say keep practicing humans and perspective. But then again we all need to.
Revisit this picture in a little bit and see how much you've grown. This is an ambitious project and you got much of the feel right, and that I think is the essential success of any picture. The rest is just technicalities.

This is probubly my favorite picture I've seen you draw that contained humans. Your lighting is great. Especialy on the couch. You also made the eyes on the man nice and curvey. It looks like your improving your neck drawing. Despite a few little things it's a very nice picture in my opinion. I will say it looks like you were trying to put more emotion into the picture than is there. Their faces don't show much of it at all, but then again I'm not sure if that's what you were trying for or not.
Also, I like the feather. Didn't notice it until just now, but it's one of the better single feather drawings I've seen in DA.
