Magic: (Silver Tongue) Jo King is naturally a persuasive person, but she further bolsters her ability to coerce indecisive customers by lacing her speech with enchantments. This ends up putting a need in some victims much like nicotine would for addicts. As well as this ability has served her, it's always a hit or miss whether it'd affect the customer at all. There are times where it would work and times it would not. It also only lasts for a couple of hours, thus inducing some buyer's regret for a couple of her customers. (But she's pretty intent on insuring people a lasting desire for her wares, just at a higher price than one would be comfortable with.)

Her powers of persuasion has always been a great asset, and at times she can be manipulative with it to get her way. She's a monkey not to be messed with lest you expect your purse to be emptied in a flash, and it'd be all of your own volition to add insult to injury.

History:

Jo King is an immigrant from China, born from the concubine of some wealthy baron. She lived with plenty of sisters, all of which were from different mothers who made up the harem of her father. It was a rather lavish life until her father met an untimely end at the hands of an assassin, most likely the wishes of some rival family, which in turn spelled doom for her and her large amount of relatives. Many turned to the brothels as it was the only choice they had, yet Jo King's mother had different intentions for her daughter. Instead of living the rest of their lives pleasing men, her mother decided it would be a better opportunity for them to escape via fishing boat to a foreign land. Far, far away did they sail from the clutches of Chinese warlords and any such threats to her daughter's livelihood.

The two of them soon started a life as simple vegetable farmers months after they touched down in Japan. It was a vast land of opportunity, and Jo King's mother could see it. Their humble lifestyle continued for some years, and it was then that Jo's ability to persuade the townspeople had more than saved them from a life of poverty. People paid great sums of money for their crops even if they weren't stellar quality, all because Jo had the natural affinity to get people to buy them without a hassle. This didn't exactly bode well with her mother, however, insisting her daughter not take advantage of the good people of their town.

Time continued on and age wasn't kind to Jo King's mother, falling ill and bed ridden leaving the young girl to tend to their entire farmland. Working double time to make up for the leave of her mother, Jo King soon realized that they wouldn't be able to keep up this living any longer. Taking matters into her own hands, the young monkey girl set out to use her persuasion skills to ensure a prosperous future for both her and her mother. Leaving her with a trusted caretaker, Jo King gathered whatever she could deem profitable and journeyed across nippon in the hopes her ability and her wits were enough to get by.

Years go by and her intuition was right, soon making a great amount of money and upgrading her wares to suit a wider range of customers. While she's gained quite the greedy persona due to her success, she hasn't lost sight of her original goal. Jo King will dominate the markets in the hopes to pave the way for easy living. And she'll ensure that her mother will indulge in the triumph.

Extras:

- The bells on her tail was her idea of attracting customers. It soon became a trademark of hers when arriving in towns who are familiar with her shop.
- Jo King visits her mother from time to time, though keeps her swindling ways a secret from her.
- Contrary to popular belief, bananas are absolutely disgusting to her. The texture is just downright nasty.
- Spring is her favorite time of the year, not because it's pleasant and beautiful, but because it's easier to sell during the time as opposed to the winter season.
- The yen piece on her headband is the first golden coin she earned since she started her business as a merchant.
- Despite her petite frame, she does have a monkey's strength. She can haul her cart when necessary, but more often than not has oxes to help pull it.
- Jo flatters people very easily to make a sale, so she isn't as easily flattered back. However, poetry makes her melt.
