Well, good thing it's not a swastika because I'm a Filipino. Can you imagine a colored Nazi?
The "Sauvastika" or "Manji" in Japanese, is the name and the emblem of the protagonist from my all-time favorite manga, Blade of the Immortal.
By the way, I'm just curious. Are you colored or white?

What do you mean, it's not a swastika? That's what that shape is called.
And using it in public, especially as a logo, does harm. You can show your love of manga characters without using a symbol that reminds people--real, living people--of living through hell and seeing people they loved die. And meanwhile, neoNazis using that symbol are still terrorizing and killing people, and they LIKE seeing the swastika in public places like this.
I'm guessing you haven't really thought about how this affects other people; you're assuming that just because you don't MEAN it to be supporting Nazism, it shouldn't affect other people. But it does.
If I were inclined towards flaming, I'd be shrieking that you don't give a damn about real people's lives and deaths--that you think your fondness for a particular fandom is more important than people as real as you and your family and friends, people who can still be hurt and other people who were brutally murdered. But I can't imagine you really feel that way any more than I do.
I'm not sure why you think my color matters, especially since the people the Nazis killed were almost all white. But since you ask, I'm white. And not Jewish. But I have Jewish friends, and Catholic friends, and homosexual friends, and trade-unionist friends, and many other types that the Nazis killed. (I don't think I know any Gypsies, but you never know.) And boy, have I had a lot of non-white friends as well.
My favorite uncle married a wonderful Jewish woman whose grandparents died in a Nazi concentration camp. She lives in New York, her name is Tema, she was my sister's best friend when they worked at the library together, and she makes the most amazing cold salmon salads. She sings a wonderful high descant over our family grace. Her hair is developing the most beautiful grey streaks and she has one of those lovely rich voices that makes you want to purr. She's real.
As real as me. As real as you.
And we're all human.

Again, my avatar is a Manji/Sauvastika and not a Swastika. You may not believe it but there's a HUGE difference in aesthetics, meaning and notoriety between the two. Please, look it up.
I've been here in DA for 6 years and I asked for your color because in all my time here, the vast majority of people who makes a hellbent issue of my avatar, lectures me on racism, hate and the holocaust are white. And I've only experienced having this discussion with only one African-American guy, who later became my friend and another, with somebody who's actually from Israel. Looking at that statistic, the overzealousness of white people compared to the other two puzzles me.
Also, I'm glad that you have wonderful relationships with people of different background and cultures and that's how it should be. But really, you're barking up the wrong tree with me and this negligent Anti-Semitic garbage you accuse me of.

I'm not accusing you of anything but thoughtlessness. I believed you the first time that you weren't personally advocating Nazism.
But communication has two sides, the speaker and the hearer. And while you're cheerfully explaining to people that you don't mean it, you're still making neo-Nazis feel smug and a lot of other people feel like you mean them harm--or at the very least, that you don't care.
And if all those people are less important to you than your fandom, you're a lot younger than I thought.
