Its because it has been shot with a 300mm lens. Telephotos draw in the background.

I'd say the foreground is excellent. It is strong enough, but does not take away. Very nice.

The foreground really shows how bright the moon is, a very rare shot. If you want to get rid of the foreground I suggest uploading another version of this one, because this is just fantastic!

I like the foreground tres as silhouettes, it doesn't distract from the main interest which is that amazing sun.

I think the foreground needs to stay as it is. It makes the reds more dramatic and helps draw the eye to where it needs to go in the pic.
