It's a very beautiful piece. I like the flown and gentle curves. It almost looks like a flame O_o

Like *pj925 , I don't like the purple background. I did at first, but after having looked at it in my favs gallery some times it's started to annoy me. It takes a lot of attention from the sculpture.

purple background is really giving me problems. attacting my attention rather than the sculpture. the geometry is fighting the curves and organic form of the sculpture. i would suggest a white background which would highlight the different subtle color play in the sculpture itself. Im not sure if in the first pic the sculpture is even in focus. another thing that immediately through me was teh title. i was expecting a white stone, like really white. might just be me tho. i got some strange hangups.

Okay, i've been waiting to comment on Biophilia until i have an articulate and insightful commentary expressing all the yummy feelings it provokes. Unfortunately, I just can't help myself here--scrolling through my devs, this one caught my eye, and the words out of my mouth were "Oooooh, BABY!" Don't think that's much help tho....

how did it get scratched?

The gallery's new staff didn't handle it properly, they wore jewelry and bumped it against other things. Soapstone chips and scratches very easily.

that's really too bad and may get somewhat annoying to touch up after a while, i would imagine. esp after you spent all the time in the first place to make them look the way you wanted. oh well. maybe you will like them a bit more after you touch them up. never know.

It's beautiful! What do you use to fix the scratches?

The scratches aren't too deep, so i'll use fine riffler files and sandpaper to get rid of them. And if I change it a bit, I'll use files and a chisel or two. The stone is soft enough that you don't need a hammer, just your body weight to chisel it.
