Description
Based on the first appearance of Flintheart Glomgold. In the story by Carl Barks, Scrooge and Glomgold had the exact same number of cash, the exact same amount of Factories, jewels, treasures, estates, ETC ETC ETC. They were equal on EVERYTHING!. Except...Both of them had been collecting strings over the years in order to save money, so both had their own giant ball of string, and they decided to unroll them in the middle of Africa in order to determine which of them had the longest string, and the one who had the longest one was the richest duck in the world. During this, the animals, nature, wether and other things ends up destroying both balls a bit each, until both Scrooge and Glomgold only have one tiny ball of string each, and when they unroll them..They are the EXACT Same length. But...Scrooge had ONE Ace up his sleeve. See, when he has his number one dime with him, it was tied to a piece of string to his jacket. He added that piece of string to the other, and thus his string was 5 CM longer then Glomgold's. So, yeah. During his first apperance Scrooge was richer then him because of a 5 CM String!

This changed later however, as when Glomgold returned, he swore to beat Scrooge, and thus they both made giant piles of money to see which one had the biggest. During this, Glomgold actually bought a shrinking potion from a witch doctor in order to Shrink Scrooge's pile, but Scrooge and Family managed to protect Scrooge's pile. In the climax, Scrooge's pile was biggest because of the money Glomgold spent from his pile to buy the shrinking potion.
