Then we have the Second era of Sonic the comic. This is when things started to...go in its own direction. Robotnik slowly got a makeover in which he looked like a mixture of his classic self, and his cartoon self. He also got new robots not based on any game enemies, but some of the foot soldiers ended up looking like friggin nazis, and of course the infamous super sonic.

I will give the comic one thing tough. Back in these days, they more or less had the games to go on, and there wasn't much...meat to the stories there, so they had to make up some stuff. They clearly also had to tie in a bit with the upcoming Sonic cartoons which were being made at the time, hence why Robotnik ended up taking over the world later on.

While not bad, I wasn't very much a fan of the direction it went. I mean, sure it wasn't awful or anything, but I felt it began to go a path away from what it originally was, which I personally was not so much a fan of. We are also introduced to Super Sonic in this era, and I just question why they changed a basic power up from the game, into a psychotic Mr hyde thing for Sonic. Not a fan, but that was just me.

Things began to change more with the...next era.
