Description The last Africa photo I'm submitting!  IT ONLY TOOK THREE AND A HALF YEARS.

But those who actually enjoy my animal photos, fear not: I take a lot of zoo photos, so I'll move on to posting those in between drawings now.  The gradual trickling of photos shall never end.  Never, I tell you!

And those who hate my animal photos and were hoping this would finally be the end of them, well, stick around anyway; it will be a good way to work on those endurance skills that are crucial for navigating life.  You'll be stronger in the end, I'm sure.

aww :3 such a lovely primate! honestly I like seeing animal photos. As much as personally I'm not a photographer I get a lot of ideas for my creature designs from it. Like with my most recent species I got ideas from photos of water deer and saiga antelope.

Why thank you!  I'm glad you enjoy the photos, I sometimes wonder if I bore people with them since I'm pretty sure most of my watchers are more interested in drawings.

And ahhh, I knew the Barsu's face reminded me of something but I couldn't quite place the species.  I'm really bad at remembering ungulates.  But now that you mention it, I realise I was thinking of a saiga!  That's pretty cool - their faces do seem somehow suited to an alien species. O_o

Indeed! Saiga have a very interesting facial structure, they are cute weird antelope. Its very sad apparently they are in danger because once again silly Chinese medicine not caring about driving species into extinction x-x because you know that's the way to run an industry: don't have domestic stock, just overhunt the living fuck out of a wild animal already under a lot more pressure than farm animals to survive so in 10 years you can't produce that product at all anymore that didn't work in the first place.

Ugh, sorry for the rant that just peeves me off a lot.

It's OK, that's a legitimate thing to rant about!  I have to agree, I can't understand the logic in hunting an endangered species for medicine rather than like, developing breeding programmes so you can have a steady supply.  Especially when the part they use is a horn which you don't even need to kill the animal to obtain. Unfortunately the poachers themselves are usually people who live in impoverished conditions and would never have the resources to start some kind of breeding programme themselves, but the rich bosses who pay them could certainly make a difference if they changed their ways.

And it is sad that species like antelopes don't get much attention when it comes to these issues because they're not as popular as tigers and stuff . . . not that tigers' popularity has really helped their situation either, but at least more people are aware of it.
