"Staring lurcher"CLASS: Mistake.
A useless by-product of monster creation. This sweaty, oily monster staggers backwards (or is that forwards?) watching only where it has already been. When attacked, it drops its eyeball to distract potential predators, rather like the tail of a lizard. It will grow a new eye in a week.

I like this idea (it's based on some kind of youkai, right?), but the execution isn't stellar. I'd have another go at it, if I were you. Just a suggestion.

Though I forget the name of it, there is a ghost in Japanese mythology who takes the form of a small boy, and who enjoys scaring travelers by running up to them backwards on all fours, screeching, following them by way of a gigantic green eye that bulges out of its anus.
