Day 9 of 10 days of desserts to celebrate the upcoming holiday season! We're nearing the end! Today's dessert is a kiwi and passionfruit pavlova, a merengue-like dessert, supposedly named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova in the 1920s. The pavlova is popular dish in both Australia and New Zealand. While I'm not much of a merengue person, I do like how versatile it!Day 1: Cannoli Siciliani

Thanks! It does look deceptively fluffy huh? I thought it would be too when I grabbed for it out of the buffet line, but as I jabbed my fork in, I quickly realized it was actually hard and crunchy! The merengue had been intentionally hardened so it was much more like a light, crispy cookie, much to my surprise since I thought it was more of a creamy pudding at a glance. XD

Thanks! It was really fun seeing all the different desserts they had! Although taste-wise, it wasn't quite what I expected or hoped for (it was hard and crunchy, and definitely on the very bland side for the white part), I loved how it looked, simple with a splash of elegance!

I can see why they named it after her! It's both kiwi and orange colored syrup! Wait... Ballerina... She was a baller? I'm not sure how words work... I am also not a big meringue person since I am 100% person! But this at least looks lovely! Like it would be like eating a cloud!

Alas, tis not a cloud unless the cloud was really hard and crunchy! Maybe that's what happens when your miasma reaches the heavens! It turns all the clouds into crispies! And what do you mean you are not a big meringue person and are 100% person? You deceive me! I thought you were 100% meringue since your back is filled with the crispies and crunchies!
