Description Just our joyous little group of hunters back in low rank, starting out on the journey to make the most fashionable clothes out of dinosaurs! I started this piece way back when MH4U was first released, but never had time or motivation to put the finishing touches on it till this week (almost a year later...)! But either way it's done! Even though we've been in G rank for awhile and its more or less outdated...It's an experiment with the Fairly Odd Parents/Danny Phantom art style as well, and I enjoyed trying it out.

This was done for the challenge piece, "Three emotionally different facial expressions and six visible non-chibi hands," but then I realized this art style doesn't actually give me a whole lot of practice nor challenge with hands. So then I decided to submit it for the challenge "Detailed complete outfits on someone with a bouquet," but since the style is so simple, it's not terribly detailed either! XD

Thanks to marmiz for assistance on poke poke the pixels!

How did I not comment on this? Well, I know we've talked about this piece quite a bit sooooo.... Better late than never? Waahh! This is so old now! I honestly thought I had commented... Well, I don't think it helps that I've never seen this picture ever in any of its stages. Ever. I remember since it took such a long time I forgot what the original style was supposed to be and looked at it before you finally posted it here and thought, "This looks like Fairly Odd Parents. I'm guessing that was the intended style." And then it was! I am so smart! Praise me! And you know how I feel about this piece since we've discussed it. But I know you like the praise too so here it goes. YUCK! Wait... I mean, YAY! I like the style as you know and you captured it well since my dementia forgot you were going for that style and it's easily identifiable! I like how this is totes the dynamic of the group as well! TOTES! I'm glad to see that it was posted after all that time! Your linework is ever-improving the color palette fits this style wonderfully!

TOTES! This totally captures everyone most accurately with nothing falsified whatsoever! And you totes made an autoruin there with YUCK! That should say "HYUCK!" because that's the best way to laugh and praise simultaneously! Hyuck hyuck hyuck! You have never seen this picture before, ever. And you most certainly are not familiar with the style! Dementia vu go go!

Has that person whom you keep telling her that I like buff men seen these pics of yours yet? Surely the one who enjoys seeing these muscles the most is not I~ XDXD

Like I said before, you got the style down perfectly and I recognized it too right away. XD All the colors complement each other well too, in my opinion. I really don't know what to say other than "it looks perfect". XD

I don't think she's been on dA in weeks, but hopefully when she does, she'll get to admire your fabulous taste in big buff men! Don't be shy now~ I wholeheartedly endorse your taste!

And thankies for your praise laoshi! I'm glad you convinced me to start a dA over 7 years ago and helped me grow as an artist! Your fabulous fong pii has helped fuel my inspiration many times. Not to mention rolling around on the floor! Did I mention you have the most dapper abs that can rip luxury hotel towels in two with sheer force? Truly awe-inspiring! Now to just get your moe moe teachings down...teach me laoshi!

Haha, now this is an awesome artwork! I love how you captured each character's individual personality! This is quite a different style from you, neat to see you play around a little. ^^
Best of luck in the challenge, gotta love the name of it. XD

Thank you! I based it on the "Fairly Odd Parents" (I'm not sure if that aired in Sweden), which was a cartoon I really enjoyed watching as a kid. While I'm not as fond of the episodes in the past few years and the direction some of the characters have gone (just a slight change can really make a huge difference!), I still have a lot of good memories with it and wanted to give the art style a try. With each piece I do, I try to use a new style or technique (even if it ultimately looks the same as something else I've done, at least it was attempted! XD), especially in challenge pieces where we challenge ourselves to improve or step out of our comfort zone. It's a lot of fun, especially seeing how different people tackle the same topic!

Oh indeed! It aired here in Sweden and I used to watch it quite a lot. I thought I recognized the style!
It must have been a good challenge to try to step out of your comfort zone, at least it makes for great practice!

Cool! I watched it fairly often during elementary school. I recently watched a few of the newer episodes for the first time in years, and unfortunately it doesn't have quite the same charm it did before. I think adding a new baby fairy and fairy dog (and I think Cosmo has a new voice actor it sounds like? It's similar but not the same...), and just not having as many novel ideas for a series that thrives on childhood and imagination probably contributed to me not enjoying it as much. I still liked the older episodes a lot though! Maybe that's just nostalgia talking though haha! Have you seen any of the more recent episodes?

Indeed! It looks like dA recently launched a "Sketch This" challenge, which when I read it, was really similar to how me and my friends approach our "Challenge Pieces" we do! Good practice and exploring things outside our comfort zone!

Oh, I actually didn't know they had changed the show so much, I've only watched the older parts so I didn't know about this until now. But I'm guessing sicne it's such a big part of your childhood you don't really fancy when it gets changed heavily.

Yeah, it may be a nice challenge to try out some of that. ^^

Haha indeed! I guess it's also a bit of why "old people" have that stereotype that they don't cope well with change. When things have been done a certain way for over half a century and suddenly they're uprooted and turned around in newfangled ways, it can be quite disheartening to step into unfamiliar territory! XD

Haha, yeah! Especially since how much have changed in the last 50 years, it's no wonder they're a bit put off by all the new things.

Yep! Fairly Oldd Parents was what this based on! I'm glad it was recognizable. It was a lot of fun trying out that art style.

Thanks! Despite some flaws, Monster Hunter can be a really fun and addicting series! With each iteration, I usually do a group picture of me and my friends, and try out a new art style with it. This one just happened to be the "Fairly Odd Parents" one, which was interesting to try mimicking. I really liked that cartoon as a kid, lots of fond memories!

Thanks! It was fun to experiment with it, since I really liked watching cartoons as a kid! I figured might as well mash up the style with one of my favorite videogame series.
