I'm really not sure how it acts with fabrics. Try it on something old and see?

Thanks. It does taste amazing. Does green really work in it? I guess I need to experiment more.

yeah becausw it is its compliment so it makes ir a little browner, which means darker blood, but you don't wanna add too much just a drop or two

Nice tutorial!

When I made my last fake blood I found a tutorial which recommended the following materials for making fake blood:
- water
- red food colour
- farina (I used flour instead)
- cocoa powder (to darken the red)
- water

The outcome looked nice, but this mixture definitely stains clothing and fabric.

Those things seem to be pretty common fare. I wonder how it tastes?

I'm afraid I can't remember if I tried the taste. I did a shoot when I worked on my entry for =lindowyn-stock 's S.H.A.R.D.S. contest. But at least it should be edible.

great tut!

this is NOT a critic, it is just an ADDITION to the tutorial! the sugar blood is great!

this type of blood (sugar, corn syrup and so...) looks good at a distance, bud it doesn't look real from a close look, and in large quantities it gets a little hard to make!

for large amounts of blood, or for close ups I like to make something similar, you get the sugar and water into a pan (much more water, the idea is a running syrup, just make the water viscous) an than add cornstarch untill it polymerizes, it gets slightly transluscent, but still opaque, wich is much more "blood like", also, the cornstach gives a coagulation process feel to the blood, basically, seconds after it is spilled, the blood already starts to coagulate.

after adding the cornstarch and heating it up to almost boiling point (necessary to make the starch to coagulate), you add red and GREEN food colouring, you can add BLUE also, until u get the color u want

for a even more realistic gore I like to add powdered chocolate right before using the blood, it looks great in gory scenes!

Awesome!

I know that this method is far from perfect, but I figured it'd work for people who have limited ingredients.

But I will have to try out your method. It sounds very nice.
