AP is counted for various things and added together, i.e. if you draw a full-body, that's +2 AP per full body. Then if you add shading, that's +2 AP for each full body shaded, then if you add a complex background, it's +3 AP...etc etc. And these go for any character in SA
I just did a flat-colored headshot icon for a friend, so that's 1 AP for a headshot, and no AP for shading since I didn't shade it.
It's basically a scale of addition.
