Mama Sherry is bringing the girls home!
<3 this was such a fun event and i wanted to show the love for all the Maidens by doing a big group image. there has been so many fun stories and art features and adventures in this little herd.

Obertaurer Alpine Graduation

The snow had begun to melt and the grass was was carpeting the lower valleys and Sherry had begun to move the herd downhill to take advantage of such a lush bounty. The winter had been long and cold and the mares would all put on condition faster with the sweet new grass. Something that was especially important for certain members of the herd. She had been feeling particularly eager for the fresh feed this year, and had been pleased when the abundance of new growth had allowed the other herds to settle quickly and without too much fuss. It seemed that during the winter she had managed to earn some respect from the other leaders and for the most part a warning was enough to drive away any unwanted attention from the stallions in the area.

They had been grazing in a peaceful valley one morning when she heard a familiar call. It was not the cry of a horse, but rather the strange shrill birdlike sound that her human made. Ears pricked and sides heaving she snorted, trying to scent him or catch sight of him. But the sound was echoing down the valley. She called back as loud as she could and paced around the mares, her agitation catching on and causing them to shuffle around. The shrill call sounded again and this time it seemed to come from further down the valley. She snorted and danced, head snaking down to nip at the other mares legs, and pawing the air as she circled the herd before breaking into a fast canter. She could hear the herd following behind her, but she was focused on the whistling sound.

She had not seen her human for a while. He had visited her a few times during the cold months, but now the snows were melting and she felt new excitement flowing through her. She let out a couple of playful bucks and leaps as she led the charge, squealing in delight and letting the herds excitement flow through her. It had been a tough winter for the herd, with some scuffles and disputes, but they were a solid unit now. She still had a few troublemakers but they seemed to have learned the lines they couldn't cross. The nervous mares seemed to have settled as well and seemed far more comfortable in the herd. Sherry was pleased with them all and trusted them enough to have some fun as they charged down the valley together.
