Well i have been keen as punch for this breeding for AGES!!!!

Not only have i admired Windy from affar but his full brother and absolute stunner Flash had caught my eye. Not as popular as the studs namesake this gentler sibling and stunning distance runner seemed the perfect match with the stunning little mare Collie.

Its the start of a long year so hold on to your hats kiddies!

“Uhhhhhhhhhhh” Frankie groaned as she rubbed her neck, trying to massage the exhaustion that had crept into her muscles

Ozzie sat up behind her on the couch, placing a large hand on the back of her neck as he kissed her ear. He also felt the intense strain of the work they had been doing. It was possibly the biggest season KhanCohban racing had ever seen and would see in a while. Frankie had seemed to not think ahead booking the breedings in before Geoff had left then realising the workload cursed her own excitement. Added to that the purchased yearlings had grown up on the stud filling out and were entering the roster with the homebred horses this season.

Geoff leaving had been the beginning. Syd had sent a postcard from Sydney where he was enjoying some warmth and freedom as he rode Randwick on horses he didn’t know for trainers he usually viewed as competition. Jess hadn’t been helpful recently either, her winter spent back in Tasmania preparing the big bay for his first season at stud.

Ozzie leaned over her, looking over the stud sheets and breeding notes of the season, checking the names off the list in his head. His chin in his girl curls as he tucked his arms around her.

Resting her head back on the big man’s chest she sighed, feeling her eyes droop as the early mornings caught up to her.

Her eyes flew open and a pair of blue eyes looked tiredly up at Ozzie, the hand on her boob waking her from near slumber.

“Uhhh, Hun I’m too tired, unless you want me to fall asleep on you not right now” The man’s cheeky grin didn’t waver as another hand slid around.

“I’m sure I can think of some way to keep you awake” Her eyes glinted as she grinned up at him, stretching up do kiss his stubbled cheek.

“I know you could but then I would be even worse off tomorrow” She looked back down at the papers “It’s a sad situation when the horses are getting more action than the people who look after them”

He leaned back into the couch eyes flickering up to the TV again “its Collie tomorrow isn’t it?”

“Yea she’s on for tomorrow Vet says so looks like I may finally get my hands on those Windrush bothers. Flash is looking perfect and I can’t wait to see how this pair turns out!”

Ozzie smiled as he remembered the flashy bay stallion with the strange white face. It was the pairing the woman had dreamed of, her special little mare paired with the full brother of the overseas champion. With the Wind a champion in his own right, running at extreme distances and taking his brothers talent and pairing it with a solid temperament and astounding colour.

Frankie was extra excited as it was Collies first KhanCohban foal. The woman and the mare sharing a special bond since she found her nervous and jumpy as a yearling and spending time and love to bring the mare out of her shell and seeing her blossom into a champion racer and sweet and gentle broodmare.

Pouring over the other papers and the early race schedule and horse notes on the coffee table she stretched her back before leaning back in between Ozzie’s knees. Resting her head back she smiled as she heard a soft sound behind her. Turning she grinned, watching as the man so awake and hands on moments ago snored softly at the ceiling.

The next morning Frankie stood on the side of the Gallops, watching as a small painted colt flew past, blistering in under a hand ride and chugging out still pulling as they worked him hard for the first time this season.

Collie was ready and Flash had been prepared, the Mare was settling into the breeding pasture at the property settling to graze while the splashed stallion danced around his handlers eager to meet the mare that he could smell just around the corner.

Frankie stood watching as the two touched noses for the first time.
