Description I decided to help a friend doctor his drawing. I started with this, the face. He's been gone from art and r/p for 5 years so I figured I'd show him what I learned on how to make a drawing look better, who knows, maybe some people here will find it useful ^.^

Step One (start out with the basic view direction you want, then draw a center line down the middle. This will be where the bridge of your nose will end up and will tell you how far over your eyes need to be. then draw a line with a slight curve at the curve where your farthest eye will be located, then the second horizontal line just below where the curve of the cheek is, this will tell you where your nose should end. don't put too big of a gap between that and the last line, your mouth isn't very far from your chin, but isn't right on your nose either. the last line should curve to end just below the turn of your jaw where the ear will meet, but not on it. The gap between the eye line and the nose line will tell you where the ear should be and how long if you are drawing a more human-like appearance.)

Step 2 (Next you want to draw the oval like eyes, but they do have points which end on the line. the bottom part of your eye should be on or barely curving under your eye line and the top part should come up over it slightly to give room for pupil and iris to be seen. the top curve of the face leading to the eye gap should be where the eyebrows are. Be careful to no put too much space between the eyes, but make sure that the space is big enough for the smaller view eye to be doubled between them. never let the far eye cross the nose bridge gap, and it's best if you slightly flatten out the side that is against *or rather behind* the nose bridge.)

Step 3 (next add the nose. Rarely does the nose appear where it sticks out farther than the cheek, and at this angle it should only curve towards the cheek and end about halfway between the nose line and the cheek. the small crook that shoes where the flare of the nostril is should always be on the opposite side of the nose line. )

Step 4 (next add the mouth. The upper lip is always just above the mouth line and always darker than the lower lip. the lower lip line should never really touch the top lip line. The lips end right before the outter face line and the center groove should be nearly if not perfectly lined with the nose bridge line. The top lip should also come to an end just under the inside eye as well so the lips aren't too long. )

Step 5 (With eyes closed you need to make the lids match the eyes but not exactly. darken the area closest to the outside on both eyes and add a slight dipping line to the opposite side. add lashes and darken and thicken the eye brows if you like.)

Step 6 (Darken in the nose and add the ear, once you know where the ear is you can add hair, make sure the hair doesn't go to far away from the shape of the head or you start losing shape. trust me O.O you dun wanna do that XD it ends up looking alienesk and you frustrate the shit out of yourself trying to figure out what is wrong with the face when really all it is, is your hair is too big lol )

Step 7 (Erase the unwanted lines and add detail, poof the hair, but remain careful how big it is and darken the neck, don't forget that males have adams apples but if your drawing a female those lines *if there at all* should be faint. We have a much smaller version of the same thing thanks to females higher voices. )
