i hate this show, so much. i just started marathoning this show in particular last week in preparations for a collab review with another YouTuber on my YouTube channel in my Sean's Network Reviews Series, and to cut it short. This show is absolute garbage: the show does not have any consistency with it's own concepts whatsoever, the animation (while fine on paper) can have several points where it feels like it doesn't want to take risks. Particularly with crowd shots or background extras, the grossout in this show gets so bad. To a point where i think that Ren and Stimpy has more dignity than this show, the voice acting is bland at best. and annoying at worst, and the characters range from not interesting. To the most insufferable characters imaginable

But the worst parts of this show. Belong to two things in particular - Gus, and Tommy's family members (Excluding Debbie Turnbull)

and i think that their worst centered focused episodes. Is definitely this episode right here

No! i don't find this episode the worst episode of this show. Two worse ones that come at the top of my head are Underwater & Party Out of Bounds, because they bring in every problem with the show front and center. But those episodes don't have anything notebook that i want to bring up in an Atrocity Journal, but this episode does

Gus is the first major problem with this show: he is constantly being a nuisance and annoyance towards the other characters, he doesn't care about anyone else but himself or his hunger, he is a terrible roll model to Robot Boy himself, and he constantly takes advantage of tommy and innocence

In every single episode, every single one. Gus does nothing but either persuading Tommy into doing something bad, he gets Tommy or Robot Boy into trouble and idly watches as he gets them into trouble, and is constantly being a hypocrite most of the time

and bare in mind, Tommy and Gus are supposed to be "BEST FRIENDS". and yet, Gus is absolutely awful towards Tommy most of the time. and this episode shows him at his absolute worst

He literally starts off the episode by stealing money right out of Tommy's hand. and when Tommy gets accused of stealing a toy (even though he brought the toy with him to the toy store), Gus does not stand stand up for Tommy AT ALL. and stands there all idle, as Tommy gets falsely accused of stealing a toy. and gets grounded and in trouble, in fact. When Tommy gets into trouble, Gus has a smug look on his face. Not even standing up for him

I'm going to emphasize this once again. Tommy and Gus are supposed to be *BEST FRIEEEEEEEENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* and Gus doesn't even stand up for him

and my second big problem with this show. Is Tommy's Father, Tommy's Mom is alright. Mainly because of the episodes that we would see later on this show, atleast at this point while I'm almost finished with Season 1. But his father i absolutely despise, i dislike Donny too. But he doesn't have any major focus in this episode (which is why I find Underwater & Party Out of Bounds much worse episodes), in this one. only his father i have major issues with, in this episode. Tommy's Father does not believe him................ Just because the guards found Robot Boy in his bag, even though. Tommy does not look like the kind of kid that would lie at all about the fact that he carried his toy to a toy store, Donny (Tommy's abusive brother) has done way worse garbage. and he gets off much lighter

Yeah. That's my biggest issue with Tommy's Parents in this show, especially with his father. The show constantly implies that these two are playing the parental favoritism game, i don't know if that's what this show is trying to go for. But the unfortunate implications constantly makes it feel like that is the case, there are multiple times in this show where Donny does something horrible. But he's only softly talked to, by his mom. and especially his dad, but with Tommy. They go all out with how they treat him, heck. in 'Cleaning Day', Tommy gets grounded.................. Just because his room was dirty, and yet. Donny doesn't when the entire house ends up being an absolute mess in 'Party Out of Bounds', which adds onto the inconsistency on this series (or the parental favoritism aspect as i mention earlier). Tommy's Dad is especially heinous, in one episode. When Donny continuously rough houses with Tommy, he literally says "stop playing around guys, there will be plenty of fighting when we get there". not even caring that Donny is continuously beating up Tommy, especially when they were in the car, and when the house ends up being a mess in the aforementioned 'Party Out of Bounds'. He's proud of him for messing up the house, which is insane considering how many times he scolds Tommy for doing things alot more tame

oh. and speaking of Gus, when Gus and Lola come over to Tommy's house to help him escape. and when they get to the toy store, he still has no care in the world about the fact that he literally got Tommy into trouble. or got Robot Boy confiscated from Tommy at all

All he cares about is his STUPID TOY, he doesn't even have any care in the world that Tommy wanted to buy a toy for Robot Boy at all. Seriously! When Tommy and Gus split up in the episode where Tommy decides to hang out with Kurk, instead of Gus. My only thought in my mind was *GOOD* Gus doesn't deserve to have any friends if he's going to do things like breaking promises or go through people's personal belongings, and yes. The latter actually happened in another episode
