I think it is a little bit underexposed, but it looks fine on my monitor. Are you using a mac or PC? Something I've noticed is that my pictures look underexposed on PC monitors, but ok on Mac monitors (like mine)... But I'm not sure.

The histogram is pretty far over to the left, although there aren't any actual clipped shadows. I think it does look better with some brightening, but I'm too lazy to upload a new one

Dunno about Spanish, but the common name you gave seems to be the one I see everywhere. And they're from Mexico and the surrounding areas, so that might be it.
