One of my last sketches before my tablet died and gimp crashed on me.

Synthia over at FS in England, picking out and picking up a 3 year old blanket Appaloosa we'd call Apache Dancer. She's talking to Aithne, after leading the mare around to get a feel of her...

Yep. Love the girl, if I can find out a way to finish it tomorrow...

Horse 4
Name: Undecided (Apache Dance)
Age: 3
Gender: Mare
Colour: Bay
Breed: Blanket Appaloosa
Physical Condition: She has a few hoof problems such as cracking and a small abscess which has been treated. These problems are due to the poor conditions she was kept in. She also has a nasty cut just above her left eye which will heal in time. Other than this she has no major physical problems.
Mental Condition: She doesn't like being in stables, especially when she is left over night. If left for long periods of time in a stable she begins windsucking, pacing, door-knocking, chewing and sometimes begins to panic. We hope this problem will resolve with time, but until then she needs plenty of field space. She is a generally very friendly horse and gets along with humans and other horses. Unfortunately she is not keen on being ridden.

Synthia groaned as she rolled into Firelight with the big rented horse trailer, still pissed that Schii'd stuck her with picking up this new mare. Of course, Schii and her brother were already on a plane back to the States... But this girl would need to be handled before they could get her on a plane to take back to SFS. Apparently, it would be her job to work with the mare and get her stall shyness down so they wouldn't have to tranq her on the flight back.
Her green eyes spotted a petite woman, absolutely gorgeous in every way and Syn flustered... No way, she thought, now way would the boy'sve been able to even think about horses.
"Excuse me," she called as she stepped out of the vehicle, and the woman turned to her, "I'm here about the rescues? My boss said something about a 3 year old blanket appaloosa mare?"
The woman smiled and motioned her to follow, and she did so.

After leading the mare around the field a few times and feeling her out, Syn brought her to a halt in front of the woman who reached up to carress the mare's face. She whuffled gently, sliinging her head over Synthia's shoulder.
"She's gorgeous, Aithne," Syntia murmured, "With the personality to go with it." She stroked the mare's nose, glancing at the older woman. "It would take work, but I'm willing to put the time in. Some t-touch to get her started, start working with her after those cuts have healed up and the hoof's started feeling better. She's still favoring that foot a bit. I'm sure I could gain her trust after a few weeks, and we'd start the healing and gentling process after we get her home... What do you think? Can I get started?"
