Schii donned the dress she'd made the week before, struggling into the leaf bound dress, the feathers brushing her legs in a sensation she hadn't felt since she'd worn a feathered dress to the night club that one time... She shook herself out, feeling the dress settle about her knees and thighs, adjusting the straps and staring at herself in the mirror... Her mother's beauty hadn't passed on to her, that was for sure. She passed a hand through her caramel locks, heading into the trailer to do something with her mess of hair.
It took fifteen minutes to get the long rivulets to stay curled. She fought with her bangs, turning them up and over, teasing and brushing them back to create the 'bump' that seemed to be so popular. Her two-tone eyes found her mare and filly, munching away at hay just outside the trailer... They were already dressed up, Misty's mane coiled and turned and woven with feathers of bright and unnatural colors, butterflies, and roses and daisies. Aety had a bunch of flowers in a garland about her neck... They'd tried to make a woven blanket of ivy and flowers, but she continued to eat it every time they put it on her. This would have to do.
In a last second dash, she pressed bright shadow to her eyelids and darkened her cheekbones, hoping to seem more ethereal from a distance. She had just attached the big butterfly wings to her back when their number was called, and Schii screamed, ushering her two out of the paddock, slipping up onto the mare's back and steering them towards the outdoor arena...
