She never did try to speak her mind,Always kept her thoughts stowed away.
Hidden behind the pane of glass,
As she watched people waste the day.
She was wasting away before everyone,
The secret hidden from prying eyes.
One final shot and the motion stopped,
No one heard as her heart say goodbye.
She was just a girl who nobody knew,
Who everyone ignored in the hall.
She was quiet but knew her way around,
Nobody expected her to fall.
Top in her class with honors so high,
She had everything a person could want.
Affection and love missing from a broken heart,
Is as painful as the boys jeering taunts.
In the top drawer of her dresser,
Lay a silent little box she turned to when lost.
Her secret escaped between her fingers,
And each stab of pain was worth the cost.
Still she was the girl that nobody knew,
Who cried silently to herself at night.
Nobody saved her when things came to worse,
And she barely put up a fight.
When everyone heard the news,
Honest and fake tears were shed.
