Actually they will bring you more attention, considering it's usually a subjective choice without any type of logical questioning when someone goes to your page and indirectly views the validity of your pageviews.

Whether you'd like to believe it or not, the today page has always been rigged. `RainCookie has had fake views for a looooong time, probably since she had that kiriban going on a few years ago. Not everybody acts that way though, some people may just think 'Wow 100 million views, they must have nice work!' and it's usually in the very back of the head to actually question the statistics.
