Pretty pretty! I wish one could make this into a necklace, don't you?

it's really pretty and so filigree it would be an awesome necklace maybe you could try in your silversmith class or I'll try sth with thicker wire

There's an idea... simple clear glass beads and green wire? I think it could work!
seed-of-january In reply to Athalour [2009-06-09 07:34:09 +0000 UTC]
that sounds perfect I don't have any coloured wire except for the red one I used for the donut necklace for krypto and that wire is really really thin - one need a thicker wire to bend that

Perhaps we should collaborate some time?
seed-of-january In reply to Athalour [2009-06-11 11:05:22 +0000 UTC]
that would be great, but how?
Athalour In reply to seed-of-january [2009-06-12 08:56:09 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, how about I send you enough beads to make two - one for you and one for me? Then you send me one back. Does that sound workable?
seed-of-january In reply to Athalour [2009-06-12 09:01:20 +0000 UTC]
that does sound great but I need to look for some green wire first, or maybe I'll make it like the dreamcatcher: thick alu wire wrapped with some fine green wirewhile I go have a look, we could think about the design I think it should be a pendant about 6 cm long, but it could be earhangers or a brooch too, what do you think?how big/ tiny are those beads you're thinking about?
Athalour In reply to seed-of-january [2009-06-12 19:24:53 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, the dreamcatcher idea sounds good. Maybe use that as the basic construction, with little curly bits of green wire in between? I like the pendant idea, although earrings or brooch could be cool, too. Not sure about size of beads... Perhaps really small? Like 1 or 2 cm each? (Smaller than that gets tricky to make) Clear seed beads might be nice in between, for smaller drops.
seed-of-january In reply to Athalour [2009-06-13 08:30:51 +0000 UTC]
that sounds good those curly bits would look fantastic the pendant is my favourite too maybe I'll try some matching earringsIf I'll make the pendant about 6cm long the glas beads should be 1cm each - I think 2cm is to big to count as a waterdrop what are seed beads? I have rocailles if that is similar - they're available in 2,5mm and 5mm they would look cute as smaller drops
Athalour In reply to seed-of-january [2009-06-15 17:09:15 +0000 UTC]
As far as I know, seed beads and rocailles are pretty much the same thing I think it's just different names.Agreed, 1 cm sounds good. I'll see what I can knock together Your trade beads look divine, by the way - they came out really well. I'll try and photograph them tomorrow. I did try one with silver on the surface, but it looked weird The reduction flame made it go funny. I don't think they need etching, but you can let me know what you think when you've seen the picture.

*Aaaahh I got crystal and milky white rocailles and I can get green wire in different sizes too *OOooohhhh you make me curious - I'm really looking forward to the beads

Lovely! So, how many little lampwork beads shall I make for the project? The trade beads are up! [link] Hope you like them.
seed-of-january In reply to Athalour [2009-06-17 08:31:47 +0000 UTC]
yay can't wait to start with nature's jewelry well I think 4-6 lampwork beads for each pendant should do it, what do you think?I'll take those rocailles we talked about for the rest of the waterdrops I the beads they're sooooo gorgeous I think the two left in the backgound seem to match, but that could be the foto...and they definitely need no etching, but it's tempting to see what they would look like
Athalour In reply to seed-of-january [2009-06-17 13:31:46 +0000 UTC]
Lovely! 4-6 sounds good. I'll try and get them done early next week. Yes, the two left in the background are the closest match. It's hard to make two the same in this shape, that's why I made so many... It is tempting to see what the etching would look like, but I think it would obscure too much of the interior. Alas! Pity there's no "undo" button on etching, eh what?
seed-of-january In reply to Athalour [2009-06-21 08:52:25 +0000 UTC]
what are you going to do with the rest of the beads? do you make some pendants of it?'undo' button that would be a new convenient tool to every artists working space I would want one or a time machine
Athalour In reply to seed-of-january [2009-06-21 16:29:04 +0000 UTC]
Yep, I'll probably sell a few as pendants, or design a necklace that uses a few of them. Haven't decided yet. "Undo" button for life in general - now that's an invention I could go for!
seed-of-january In reply to Athalour [2009-06-22 09:04:10 +0000 UTC]
the 'undo button' for life reminds me of the movie 'click' where adam sandler had like a tv remote to control his carreer and personal live - he had slow motion and fast forward, and mute for his mother-in-law
Athalour In reply to seed-of-january [2009-06-22 12:51:13 +0000 UTC]
Haha, yes it does! As I recall, his remote had dire consequences. Sigh. But I still want an undo button.
