Description During a discussion at the IZFAS forum, the topic of Jhonen's latest style was brought up. Some may have noticed that recent doodles by Jhonen around the interweb are slightly different from the Zimmish style we usually see from him. I thought about how the Zim characters we know would look in this altered style. Thus, this drawing was born.

Gaz wasn't originally in the drawing, but I drew her in after I inked Zim, GIR, and Dib. She looks the most freakish I think. If this makes you squirm with discomfort, then the drawing has served its purpose.

Meh...if his newer style is really that rounded I'm not so sure I like it as much. Dib and GIR look awesome, and Filler's cool as always, but Zim and Gaz...bother me. The roundedness doesn't work on 'em.

Like I said, though, I've not seen any of his really recent stuff. Link, perhaps?

Well apparently my depiction isn't completely accurate. Jhonen hasn't really drawn Zim or the other characters like this. He hasn't even drawn them at all for a while now.

Well, that's coz the style in the IZ show itself wasnt all drawn by Jhonen. His designs were changed to better suit being animated. Nice drawing though.

That Jhonnen and his wonderful comic character style. I love his JTHM series, as well as Shmee (if I'm spelling that correctly. It's been a while). Great job on the drawing. It looks just like something he might have done.

I don't wish to start a fight, but onlyto point out a few things to you. I liked UoD's picture, and so do we all, so why ya gotta get all frusterated cuz of a movie some dumb kid made... Oh yeah... I'm not dumb... just insane. B€esides it's not done yet, and I have a team of about 6 rabid ZIM fans helping me with it, mainly with the script. I garantuee it will be much better in the final version.

Although, I agree, UoD's picture does not need this spamming.

I don't really think this style is much different than the style he used on his design for the invader zim vol. 2 DVD. I mean it is a lot different from when he was working on Invader Zim, it evolved , and I think is really hasn't changed very drastically between vol.2 and now.
