Description
Another doodle of my Ikkamir (common name: grey ider), a "centaur" structured spider creature I designed back in 2013.This is a tiny baby only just crawling out of his egg. At the time of hatching they are only 15cm from head to butt, but they grow fast, the males reaching 2m in just seven years, with females continuing to grow to 2.5m long and capable of laying hundreds of eggs.
Fortunately for their prey, very few of those hatchlings reach adulthood due to high rates of cannibalism, and even those who do only have a natural lifespan of 30 years for males, 45 years for females.
Oh and their blood is blue, as their blood uses copper as an oxygen carrier (haemocyanin) instead of iron (haemoglobin).
