Here's another one of my characters just begging to be finished for my comic idea. Not much to say about him yet, as he's not fully fleshed out story wise just yet. In fact, that weapon design isn't even quite definite. I'm not even sure if he's hero or villain yet. Or both for that matter. But he is meant to be somewhat integral to what I got planned. Time will tell on this one.Done in .05 mech pencil and blue pencil. Inks should be coming soon. Hopefully followed by colors.

Nice character design, I like it! However the weapon reminds me of marshmallows for some reason...maybe because I'm hungry! It's an awesome ninja though!

Y'know, thats exactly what I said about the weapon after I finished drawing it. But my friends insisted it was fine. lol. I got something else in mind for it in the future, so it'll look cooler.

Everyone all diggin the outfits I create. lol. Didn't realize they were that detailed til recently. lol. I'm happy with the character design. Just want to alter the weapon a bit. And still don't have colors picked out yet. ....and backstory... wow. This character is more barebones than I thought. lol.
Thats not important right now though. lol
I'm glad you're diggin the design. I've got some big plans for him. Problem is fleshing them out to fit the story right now.

I don't mind the rambling because it is interesting. I've actually started to add color to some of my human characters. Here is a [link] to one I just finished coloring. Still need to color a lot of my other characters.

Thanks, man. I plan to change up the weapon a bit in the feature. Still goin to have the same overall function, its just gonna look better and more intimidating.

i dunno why, but i have this creepingly peculiar fascination with how you draw pants. is that odd?
anyways...i like the weapon design. it seems to fit the caliber of the character, if that makes sense. when you treat a custom weapon as an extension of the character (rightfully so) it can be a real ass in the pain to decide on its appearance, like deciding hair or facial features, it's an endless slope until you hit the brakes, but i think this is approaching a good choice of appearance.

lol. Everyone's lovin that blue pencil. hahaha. I think I see why though. I've only been using it for a month just to try it out. Now I can't draw without it. lol. It's just too awesome a tool.
And yea, I definitely got my own way of drawing pants. I've never seen anyone draw them like I do thats for sure. It took all of High School (96-2000) to get that down. lol. But I finally got it. and its aaaalllll mine. lol.
And what you said about the weapon is EXACTLY the problem. It IS an extension of the character. Its gotta be just right. The original look I had goin when I created him was friggin awesome (you can see my friends rendition of it here: [link] ) but the problem was that it was just a cartoonish sketch about 3 or 4 years old and couldn't really be translated believably. I tried a few things, but it just looked too heavy and awkward. I kinda just settled for this one here temporarily. We'll see how that goes. It'll hit me soon. It always does.

I went through a few weapon designs before I came up with that one. I'm still not completely satisfied with it. But I'mma go ahead my friend ~Satosa 's suggestion I think and have multiple variants of the weapon. Kinda like in SoulCalibre.

First glance I was like "Man this guys weapons a string of marshmellows BAZAWESOME!"
then I realised I done and bumped my 'ead pretty good today at work and just got off and realised it was a spiked chain didly. Anywho awesome drawing as-per-usual.
can't wait to see more.

blue liiiiines
i was never taught to do that...always wanted to try it though.. it seems to make peoples pencils lines really nice and crisp... i wonder how it works when u lay marker over it though *ponders and stops rambling to get to the point*
...As said before..lines are really crisp..i really like that, how big did you draw it b/c it looks like it has a lotta nice detial in the weapon, clothes, and torso muscles.

I actually draw on regular 8.5 x 11 print out paper. Yea, the blue line definitely make your pencils that much more crisp. And there is no real learning it I don't think. I just picked up a blue line pencil a few months ago and gave it a shot. Just draw out what you'd normally pencil out, (shapes, wireframes, outlines) and than lay your pencils over it. As for markers on blue line, not sure how well that'd work. Pens don't really go over it too well either. Its too smooth. I usually just throw the pencils on my scanner and hit copy. Than I ink the copy of the pencils so I can keep the originals as well as the inks. And in case I mess up the inks of course.

There'll definitely be more of this character. Along with the other two and a few more I have yet to introduce here. The next character after him, you might like. She's a personal favorite of mine. We'll see

Mmm, maybe you could change the cilinders of the weapon in something different and spiked. It would trasform it in something more harmful.

That's the original intended idea, I just work out a few designs to see what works. I don't want it to look too heavy either. Thats the tricky party. But my friend suggested an idea where my characters have mutliple types of the same weapon. Kinda like in Soul Calibre. So I might try that.
