She crossed the street in a hurry to get home. She could feel the temperature dropping quickly with every step she took. Momentarily she wondered about this unnatural occurrence. It was only autumn after all. Climate change.

A couple of blocks before she reached the house, snow started falling all around her. She raised her pace, worried about the extreme weather conditions. Turning around the corner, her door came into sight. The snow was falling even harder now. She ran towards the safety of her home.

The snowfall turned into a blizzard, completely blocking her vision. She searched in vain for her door, unable to see anything around her. Chills ran down her body, filling her with despair.

She woke up with a jerk, still shivering. Ah, it was only a dream!

Yet, she could still feel her skin chilly. She looked around, perplexed, only to find out that her precious duvet was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly particularly apprehensive, she flicked her gaze towards the man sleeping peacefully on the other side of the bed. To her dismay, he was wrapped with the duvet, forming a tight burrito, only crimson tufts poking through the upper opening in the cover.

“Seijuurou!”

“…mmmm…?” The only time anyone could catch him off-guard was while asleep.

“You’ve taken over the duvet, leaving me uncovered again!” she complained. Receiving no answer whatsoever, she realised that he had fallen asleep again, paying absolutely no heed to her protests. Annoyed to the core, she jerked the duvet violently, unwrapping the peaceful burrito.

“Hey! You took the duvet!” his voice sounded angry, yet still heavy from slumber.

“Well, obviously!”

“My right to the duvet is absolute!” he said, grabbing for the cover.

“The hell you’re talking about!” She secured the duvet well out of his reach. “You left me freezing all night again! I’ve had enough! I’m going to sleep in the living room!” She got up, pulling the duvet along. “And I’m taking the duvet!”

All he could do was stare at her as the door closed behind her back. There was no way to reason with her when she was so angry.

It looks like I’m gonna sleep in absolute cold tonight.
