Presenting 's OC Flareup!This was a hard piece to do in terms of the pose. Whew! gave me pic of a Green Lantern cover (who's the source of inspiration for the costume design btw) and wanted me to use that pose. Not wanting to be accused of tracing and art theft, i totally changed the position of both arms and the face. Position and anatomical tweaks were also done with the torso and legs. Hope he's happy with this piece.
No references of the face and both upper extremities.

Yep! hehe. Saber actually asked me to do Green Lantern juz with different colors and ensigna coz that's how he's seen Heatwave since he created him.

Believe me, i couldve added a whole lot of elements myself but I couldnt do anything about the design of the costume bro coz its 100% the wish of the guy who commissioned me...Big chest circle included.
But after i did this and hearing people's comments, he decided to put up a contest where others could redesign his character. You can check his home page if you're interested.

His costume is just a recolored version of Green Lantern. I'm not trying to hide that I used it. I got bored one day so I decided to recolor his costume and change the symbol on his chest. I just asked semaj007 to draw him. I don't plan on trying to make any money off of it. So everyone quit making comments about how he looks like GL and give my man semaj007 lots of love on his awesome artwork.

I'm no artist when it comes to pencil and paper. My brother got the drawing gene. I got the cross-stitch gene. I can take almost anything and turn it into a cross-stitch pattern. Take a look at some of my stuff. I bet you will find it hard to believe I did that with a needle and thread.

In fact you did such a good job I am going to revise my artwork to match yours. I like the orange mask and the changes to the mask. The lighter blonde hair looks better than my version as well. You did an awesome the pose some. Good thinking on your part. I have said it before and I will say it again when I see your work all I can say is that man has talent.

Be a lot happier if everyone would quit pointing out how it's a recolored GL. You did a good job and you did what I asked. And maybe when you have another deal on commissions we might spruce him up a bit.

Well I understand the pose. But if we do make some changes to him a different pose seems appropriate. Maybe something without all the maxed out muscles.

How hard would it be to make a leg similar to the other one? I mean it would have to be slightly smaller the way his body is twisted.

The thing with making both legs similar is that it would make him look a lot less dynamic as if both legs are in the same direction and movement.
It would only look good if both legs are close together but with a body arcing like that, it would look weird as well.

Ok well I tell you what. You make some changes to that pose. Not the leg, but the mask and other changes we spoke of. And if you want to make some changes so his outfit doesn't scream GREEN LANTERN COPY then feel free to. Basically have fun with him. I'll pay for the extra work. Just send me a copy before you post it on here ok.

Yeah i'm thinking maybe where his ribs are you could put some orange there coming out from the middle. It doesn't have to wrap around. It could just look like fire on each side of him.
