form and color are definitely enough. i really like the collage posted over the saturated background, not sure how to put it... as far as everything not being symmetrical or not filling, it all represents emotion to me. i really enjoy it, great work.

hey I love the textures and colors you have created, but i feel like the bottom left corner is too... un-balanced, the right side is dark and that white corner throws it off balance in my opinion, I do like the collage effect tho

I think most people approach artwork with too much conscious thinking. They think that they can't understand it if it isn't a literal illustration. So the more abstract the piece is, the less they seem to be able to connect with it. But for someone who knows how to view art without that intimidation, all it takes is color balance and placement and one can experience something without needing literal expression.
I personally believe that forms and shapes of color and light are all it takes to make a good piece of art. I don't really like all that glammed-up fluff. It rarely goes any deeper than the initial message, so there's no point in viewing it.
With this piece you have here, there is a lot going on, but at so many different levels. So you just don't get bored with it, and you're placed with these nameless emotions that are only felt through this particular sequence of patterns, rather than simply getting overwhelmed and unable to read it.
...jeeze, that was wordy.

I like it, but it feels lacking in the usual storytelling of your work.

Yep, that it does. This is more of a "landscape" or sorts. Probably as close to the Hudson River School as I'll ever be again. Ha!

What do you think? I think they can be enough if there is something there one can relate. Some you will reach and some you won't. Were you making this for others? By the way, that link went to a list of artists. Was there one in particular?
One more day.

i dont think that simple form and color are enough to connect to a person, you also have to connect on a vivid, static, objective basis of memories.

That's true enough. Triggering some recollection or subconscious compulsion is a path toward significance.
