I'll have to look up that book...do you still have it?
Oh, and if you are up for a trade for this, let me know...or are you out of prints? I am on a mission going through your gallery investigating something I was told about your work. James will explain...

I actually have a framed, hand detailed version of this right now that I had listed for $100.
It is Letter sized but is a bit different from the digital version and yeah trade is always cool.

Yeah, I'm interested. I need to wait about a month or two, though. I have a couple things I need to have framed, as you know. Plus I have a trip next month. It is good that this one is framed. As far as a trade versus money...let me know exactly what you would have in mind. Money just seems simpler to me.

That's cool, let me bring it in to show you first. It is one that I was thinking about holding onto for a private collection but if you are interested we can work something out later. It'll help to see it first. Heavy pencil detail in the upper part.

This is gorgeous ... I like the way your mind and hands work.
I do not know any current reference to your name and what it means. It is similar to the name of the warlord of Robert the Bruce and other Scottish kings. His sensechal was Keith.

Awesome. I think I remember banana markers!
Of course I also remember when you could get Mt. Dew in glass bottles for like, less than a buck.
We used to do that, hit the 5&10 after school and you could get teeth rotting things (AstroPops come to mind) and pop that was super cheap.
Hanging out at the library meeting chicks with a blood sugar level hovering around 400 was where it was at!
There is a similar moment in Back to the Future where Marty McFly's son walks in and fires up a few various channels.
I think that is something I like to work in there... multiplicty of frames and moments. Some kind of collage residue.
Anyway, it's always fantastic to hear your thoughts. Glad ya stopped by!

she's totally your muse man....I love it. And I agree with the deconstruction of classical art comment, for me it's also a combination between then and the future.

Pienso que sΓ, tienes razon.
It is interesting to read your thoughts about the connection between then and now.
Esa sentimiento de juntar los tiempos, yo estarΓa de acuerdo, es verdad.
Thanks for checking it out!

your works intrigue me....I am wondering...before you got into digital were your paintings like these works Ive seen? I would probably only have to go through your gallery to answer that huh?

Senecal In reply to jtbott [2006-05-08 15:06:17 +0000 UTC]
Digital for me was a real ephiphany... traditional work was more organic by the nature of the media used ( oil, watercolor, etc.) but you are right that the processes I learned there shaped the way I handle digital. Now, it is at least 9 years that I have been working with pixels so it is second nature, like speaking English or breathing even, so the lines are blurred. Recently ( since around 2005) I have returned to working traditionally in graphite and watercolor in some instances, and then intergate those into digital work, as you can see by some of the other works.
"Salmacis II " is an example of this. I have some traditional sketching work on BREED ( www.breedart.org) as part of a Sketch release which gives a better impression of some quick traditional work. There is also work on that site that I have never posted here, so if you are interested in seeing more you can check that out too.
Thanks for the discussion!
