Thanks! I was afraid it would turn out bad because I only made the mecha-musume design because people on mechatalk kept asking me to do it. I'm supposed to do a few more, but otherwise I probably won't be doing this so often.

I agree. I could have done a better job, but I don't get to practice my character work very much.

Epyon? Who new it would turn out to be so hot?!! If I was fighting against her I think I would probably get shot down from being distracted.

You didn't need to make it so exotic...

Seraphiczero In reply to TehProgNoob [2010-11-06 03:22:51 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I know, but I also didn't need to draw it at all.
Sorry, Prog. I know you're younger than us, and I constantly worry that some of my work is not age appropriate. But if I keep holding back for others, then the art wouldn't really express what I would like to express.
The fans will just have to use their own discretion. Maybe you'll like it more when you're older and you don't mind things like this so much. And believe me, I'm still shy and embarrassed about this stuff, too.
Thanks for the fave, anyway. =o After this project I'll probably have some more chaste pieces.

i didnt really mind the exoticness, and i appreciate the beauty of the human figure, but lol i have to look at this stuff at school since i get home incredibly late. and lol since when has age mattered on the internet?

Seraphiczero In reply to TehProgNoob [2010-11-06 19:50:51 +0000 UTC]
Well, I did put that exclaimer on MT. I try to avoid looking at dA at school, and the settings are difficult because it only has "restricted" and "perfectly fine" available. Kai-tan's kinda in between, you know?
Age matters plenty, depending on the person. As for you, I keep forgetting you're younger than us. People tend to think I'm older, too.

Meh, it's okay. A side-effect of watching Evangelion is that you tend to age faster than non-believers around you. I might as well be 25 lol

This sounds silly, but I was aged by Gundam Wing. Aged terribly, lol.

I have no account in that forums because I'm not really into the "Mecha" genre we all know about. You know.. Gundam, Mobile suits and the like..
Historically, I am not sure where the theme of mecha musume originates or if it existed before MSG. For me, it began with Akitata Mika's MS Girls book. There is word of a new one, or so I hear. If anyone is better informed than myself, please enlighten us. =o
I'm not really sure if Wikipedia article about Mecha Musume [link] is 100% correct so yah..
Well, the term "Mecha Musume" is "ideally" all about Shimada Humikane's art works that probably became more popular due to the series of Figures bearing the same name [link]
That said, Akitaka's MS Girls probably appeared first, long before the mecha musume idea was made
Well it seems that outside Japan the term is now applied to virtually ALL girls with Machine parts or armor..
Initially, my definition of Mecha Musume are Anthropomorphizations of Real World Weapons historic, present or ultra modern.... and Gundam/MS Girls and the like are well..... MS Girls or whatever they are inspirations of......
but it is now generally accepted that Mecha Musume is a genre of illustration/character design revolving around girls with armor and weaponry inspired from real world, futuristic or fictional combat systems and machinery ^^
so I'm now sticking with the latter definition ^^

Ah but in Gundam Malebolge you do
I do hope they put in more Wing Gundams in DWG 3 however. That series was practically made for them.
