Curse you for getting me hooked on neopets you cur! OK, but seriously I really like this. I liked the first sketch too, but I think I'll just comment on the colored product.
Both of the older neo's look impressive. Cain and Strawberry's clothing look appropriately stitched together. They seem to be that ragged compilation of a few core pieces held together by whatever supplies happen to drop on their paths. Cain has some interesting flourishes with the belt and pouches, as well as his cloak.
Strawberry's dress is also nice, combining that same ragged feel, but making it look sufficiently distinct.
The expressions are excellent as well. They're both world weary, even for young character models. Strawberry's anger seems beyond this particular situation, and more ingrained in her. Cain on the other hand looks riled in his protector role. Of course, Tim is adorably oblivious to whatever danger/horror their lot in life is throwing at them this particular day.

I think it'snot just the title that changes the modd. The blood stained shirt of Cain also does it's part.
