Description
An angel mixed with clockwork. God's creature mixed with man's creation.Yeah, so this one took forever. This piece was partially inspired by all the clockwork jewelry I'd been looking at and partly by a rather restless desire to create movement. Even though this was a lot of work it was very satisfying to pour so much effort into something that turned out beautiful. For me this is a combination of freedom and discipline, a longing for the beauty and wonder of fantasy while still being grounded in reality.

This was honestly handled really nicely. The character in the drawing looks peaceful. The lighting kind of compliments that. Take the jewel on her forehead, for example. The glare it creates when hit by the light is like a spark of anything. It's something that just strikes at a person, and draws their attention. And that lighting, and the pose directs that attention through the picture, from right to left (following the movement in her hair, wings, and the like).
