I very much like photographs like this one that are not staged. That literally look like a private moment captured unaware. And, for some reason, they always seem more intimate when photographed in black and white. I don't know why that is, but maybe it has something to do with seeming more silent in some way. Exposing more of our inner life than our outer life.

I like that you can't see the other person. I love how the dog is very interested and his gaze draws you to the action in the photograph. And, I love how you don't know what it is that the dog is staring at. The reflection and light in the dog's eyes is also very charming.
