I have been out of the art scene on and off for a while now and it has taken a toll on my work. Recently though I came across all of my old sketchbooks from when I was back in high school and saw some images and characters I had not seen in ages. And tonight in an attempt to get some art made I sat down and revitalized one such creation. My Betta Mermaid! I have made quite a few changes to the original design but I love it all the same. The original is still somewhere in my gallery here in the old art section. I based this one off of a particularly pretty betta color combo I found. I chose to practice with traditional mediums for this one and boy did I go a little crazy with combining the colors. Finished off the image with some white acrylic for the white accents. I may or may not do a few more in this series.
