Well as some of you know I have fallen in love with :iconlazeros;'s Lasarian designs but I revised them somewhat because I dont like the design all they way. I made the front legs longer, removed the whiskers and neck spines, and made the mane bigger. I will still credit her for the idea but apperantly my design is soo nice that even Laz wants to use it to revise one of her other species so I dont know if I can technically claim this as my own design. Well anyway I drew this image to try out my new prismacolors and my scanner actualy did not destroy the colors *examines her scanner for a malfunction* hmmmmm odd.Laz if you see this please tell me if the design is mine or still yours, cause Im really confused. XD

That looks so pretty. I love the color choices, and the shading came out beautifully. As far as the character, she is yours, and you can do with her as you like. I would just like you to credit me for the design when you post her publicly. Though she is in your style, she still looks like my characters.

I have the 120 tin of Prismacolor pencils, they feel weird compared to my crayolas but as most can tell by my skill, there doesnt seem much difference XD

they work best (in my opinion) when you use a good amount of pressure, then lighten the presure as you want it to be lighter. you can also mix colors that way, prismas are great for mixing mmhmm

great, then try blocking out your shading lightly, then darken the farthest parts from the light source ^^

thats exactly how I do it, I had to self teach myself to do this but sometimes I also find it easier to do the dark first and then fade out.

yea, when using colored pencils, dark usually goes first. (for me anyway) I also tend to press hard so as to get a painted look. no white paper showing. I use the verithins if I want a light colored piece. the prisma verithins are cheaper, and very very smooth for light handling

i like the wings, they add a great conrast and they stand alone which is cool cuz my eye is constantly being pulled their, on thing, i think the wings whould have been attached to the body tell me what you think

as my character entails her antennae and wings are not attached to the body but function through static and float by magnetic fields. They dissappear when she does not need them. The wings are half transparent but with colored pencils I have no clue how to show that. I actually thought her through long ago and her features all have scientific explanations XD ask me anything and I will explain.

that makes sence i mostly look at the drawing first then if i think it's interesting i look at teh explanations but i guess i had to get the comment out of my system so fast that i forgot to read that, that's pretty cool actually

I don't know if it was a style you were going for, but her vollar seems like it's too pointed, juts out a a stronger angle than needed. Other than that, ver sweet picture indeed ^.=.^

That's a kick a** lasarian! it kinda looks more like her tropical Norwigian or whatever with the neck wing, so maybe it would be one of those. But the added front doohickies look awesome.

well actually she is taking this design for her Arctic species and those wings and the front antenae are not part of the species, they are exclusive to my char.

well she never publicized the Arctic species but she gave the link to the image and what you sent me is not it, her Arctic species has feathers, lots of feathers and really long claws.

she hasn't uploaded them to her lazeros account because they are part of a video game project she's part of. But there are four arctic species, and 2 tropical. I have seen all of them. the one with the long claws and feathers is one of the arctics, not the tropicals. I said your pic looked like one of the tropicals more than a lasarian, that's all.
