Description Here's the comic about my very first meeting with Lydia. That's more or less how it happened. I had no idea how important she'd be for me one day then.

Hope you enjoy!

I'll meet you at Dustman's Cairn, he says.Β
It'll only be a while, he says.Β

While doing this quest, I left Farkas for so long that he got killed by a Spriggan. Whoops.Β Β

Blueberryswagamuffin In reply to SereglothIV [2014-04-22 19:35:25 +0000 UTC]

It actually let me have 2 followers at a time before, it was with Serana and this one thane guy I forget his name though

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SereglothIV In reply to Blueberryswagamuffin [2014-04-22 22:25:24 +0000 UTC]

But only during the first quest.
When later she told me that she doesn't want any other followers, I was like OK, and left Lydia for a while. Later I decided that I prefer travelling with Lydia, but that stupid vampire returned over and over in every quest location and forced Lydia to leave each time...

Ahhahaha I literally killed every one of my followers by accident accept Serana because she's just too awesome XD I had a follower kill me- and it was probably not by accident because I kept on slashing him, it was Eric the Slayer

SereglothIV In reply to ceruleetheblue [2014-04-17 23:53:13 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I can also see on the Interent, that most people tend to like Vilkas more. I myself prefer Farkas. He taught me much about heavy armor and it was the first skill I maxed. And that adventure with him transforming into a werewolf...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ceruleetheblue In reply to SereglothIV [2014-04-18 00:18:16 +0000 UTC]

I liked Farkas right away and preferred him to Vilkas (because he's actually nice to you, unlike Vilkas), but then as I got higher level I started to take notice of his broken skill set and he just was very frustrating to have as a follower. By the time I got around to downloading a mod to fix him I had already married Vilkas.Β Β  #FriendZoned

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SereglothIV In reply to ceruleetheblue [2014-04-18 00:26:36 +0000 UTC]

I've never used any of them as followers, besides some quests during the Companions' questline.
Besides these few quests and the Dawnguard questline (Serana) I travel with Lydia all the time.

ceruleetheblue In reply to SereglothIV [2014-04-18 00:30:57 +0000 UTC]

I've been trying out different followers out of curiosity lately, but I always go back to Vilkas. Can't beat killing dragons and bandits with your honey at your side!Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SereglothIV In reply to ceruleetheblue [2014-04-20 23:24:13 +0000 UTC]

I try different followers with different characters, but when I find one that I like (and that I don't use with any other character) he/she usually stays for good.
So Obi-Wan has Lydia, my Bosmer assassin works alone, my Dunmer vampire travels with Eola, an Altmer mage with Faralda from Winterhold (console ), my Nord barbarian married Vilkas (when playing as Obi-Wan first, I liked Frakas more, so here I decided to marry the other one, for a change ) and another Dunmer from Solstheim explores the island with Teldryn Sero. I have even more characters, but without any 'constant' followers.

SereglothIV In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-03-29 00:43:09 +0000 UTC]

And the best is that I didn't know about it then! First I was actually going to marry Aela, but after some adventures together I fell in love with Lydia. Yeah, so that comic actually shouldn't contain that burning heart up there. Still, I was happy when I saw Lydia for the first time anyway. And unhappy after what she said...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to SereglothIV [2014-03-29 13:58:02 +0000 UTC]

That's okay, the burning heart is really cute! I think it's okay to alter the past a little bit. Β And I think I'd be unhappy too in your position.Β

At least you didn't go up to Lydia with the intention to marry her to only realize she wasn't marriageable. That's how things really happened between Jenna and Erik in my game (because my fiance's named Erik, I wanted Jenna to marry someone with the same name. And I was playing on the PS3 so no mods or relationship pranks available ). But, then we started adventuring together and he really became Jenna's best friend. So, yeah, I've altered the past a little bit in my comic, too. (Don't tell anyone. )

It must be nice to have a person in game with the same name as your boyfriend! I wouldn't be offended if my girlfriend's name was Lydia. So far, I've named my hamster Lucien, after Lucien Lachance!
I knew Lydia was marriagealbe but when I was about to make a proposal*, it turned out that I don't have my game patched! But eventually we've got married and lived long and happily ever after...

* It took me some time to make this decision, I was actually hesitating between Lydia and Aela or not getting married at all, the story when she disappeared had major influence on my final decision.

LadyMetaRose In reply to SereglothIV [2014-03-30 02:58:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's nice until I'm playing the game and talking to the NPC aloud and my boyfriend thinks I'm talking to him. Then gets sad that I'm not. It really doesn't help that the NPC really does remind me a lot of my boyfriend, as well. >.>

Very cool that you have a hamster named Lucien! I think if I were to do anything more that references Skyrim, my fiance might call off the wedding. (j/k)

I'm glad you were able to marry Lydia! After reading your story, I can tell you/Obi-Wan had a real strong emotional bond with her.

I have yet to get married in any of my games. Part of the reason is the one game in which I know who I want to marry, the character is not a high enough level to unlock that marriage candidate (I have an Orc who I feel is destined to be with Argis the Bulwark, but she's not level 20 yet).Β

SereglothIV In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-03-30 21:13:27 +0000 UTC]

My brother stares strangely at me when I talk to NPCs, even if his name's not Lydia.
Are you sure lvl 20 is required to marry Argis? I think you can unlock him at any level.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyMetaRose In reply to SereglothIV [2014-03-31 03:02:27 +0000 UTC]

Haha! That would be interesting if you did have a brother named Lydia, though.

Oh, maybe you just have to be level 20 to purchase Vlindrel Hall. That's probably my confusion, since I don't recall a time where I've been named Thane of a hold and didn't immediately purchase the house to go with the housecarl. (Or had been required to purchase the house to become Thane).

SereglothIV In reply to LadyMetaRose [2014-03-31 22:00:17 +0000 UTC]

Oh, sorry, you're right. As UESP says: If Igmund is Jarl, you must complete Kill the Forsworn Leader, followed by Dungeon Delving, the latter of which requires you to be at least level 20.
