Being nervous was something that genin Sakura did. It was definitely not something that chuunin/jounin/medic-nin Sakura did. That was something of the past. Something that wasn't even dwelled upon when it came to the Sakura of the present.

Sakura was strong, fierce and confident. So what if someone didn't except her affections? There's plenty of fish left in the sea! That one stupid fish that didn't catch onto her bait because she didn't suit their ridiculously high standards was clearly not worth the waiting around in silence on a boat. She didn't need them.

She didn't need a fish, or a guy for that matter, to validate her.

But when Kakashi was just standing there, staring at the home-made valentine's day card, saying absolutely nothing; it occurred to her that, yes, she didn't need a guy to validate her existence (please, go ask her twelve-year-old self, and even that hot mess wouldn't admit to it - even if it was true), but it sure did suck when he didn't acknowledge her advances. Of course, he couldn't just ignore her.

Then again, this was Kakashi - and she definitely wouldn't put it below him to do that. In fact, she half-expected him to just walk off and avoid talking to her at all costs unless it was completely necessary.

Seriously, though, if he didn't say something in the next five minutes, Kakashi was going to find a very large tree shoved up his ass. Sakura wasn't above that, and she most certainly wasn't above making that jackass suffer. He did, after all, deserve it (mostly - most of the time. maybe).

Luckily for her (and him), Kakashi cleared his throat and found his balls.

"Right. Well." he cleared his throat again. Was he serious? The man was thirty-something years old! "Um. This is very-" another throat clearing, which continued to fuel Sakura's impatience, "-very... hm... nice, and-"

"Oh, fuck you." She snapped, "It's just a Valentine's Day card - I'm not asking you to marry me!"

And then Kakashi had the nerve to blink. At her.

"Ugh."

Artist Notes: I felt like making a quickie V-day sketch. It's really rare I actually draw by hand, since I can't make clean lines. (I usually use Illustrator)

Anyway, I think it's cute for randomly throwing it together. Happy V-day!
