Currently working on a contest piece, so it might be a little while before I upload anything new. So in the meantime, I thought I would upload the concept piece I drew recently.The snake-orchid amphiptere is a medium-sized tropical dragon that uses its forked tail to perch on tree branches or to steady itself while on the ground.
Its diet consists primarily of birds and small mammals. When threatened by predators, it will inflate its hood and vibrate the feelers on its head, creating a loud rattling sound similar to the one a rattlesnake produces. This will generally startle the predator long enough for the dragon to make an aerial escape.

Deleted version 2 of this piece, which means I need to copy and paste the link I had in the description of another artist's rendition of this creature. The colors are different, but it's the same dragon, so... yeah. XD
