Cerion sp (Cerionidae, Pulmonata).Cerion is an endemic land snail genus from the Caribbean. The only genus in the family, by the way.
This specimens came from Grace Bay, on Turks and Caicos Islands. The photo was taken moments before the snails were added to the museum colection.

I've always been creeped out by snails and how fragile and soft their bodies are ... but the way you photographed it makes it so beautiful with the detail and the way it's hanging over the edge

They are soft bodied indeed, but they have enough musculature to make their body though however. And of course they have their sturdy shells for protection when needed.
This one looks kinda curious, as if it's trying to see the world outside the Petri dish. ^_^
