Six months later

Life on Omega had well attuned. Everyone helped in the reconstruction. They could, since the FTL engines of the ships worked, gather food and water in the surrounding systems. Aria had even can re-open Afterlife. There she was now, fled out of her apartment which still shared with Tevos and Siria, and rubbed her throbbing temples.

"Ms. T'Loak?"

She looked up at the soft voice, but when she recognized one of the doctors, it throbbed even harder behind her temples. "Again?"

The Asari in the green medical coat wrung her hands and nodded. "Madame Councilor must eat some food. Please can you talk to her? You are the only one, she is listening too.”

Aria breathed in annoyed. Yes Tevos was listening, but only because she didn't want to fight. The Queen of Omega rose slowly, left Afterlife through the VIP exit, and went on her way to her apartment. Tevos drove her to madness. Outwardly, she was exactly what the asari currently needed, she led  and kept them together, as a shining example. But when the doors closed behind her, the glow in her eyes vanished and was replaced by emptiness. She walked into the room that Aria had gave have her and closed the door. Aria knew that Tevos sat on the bed and stared at her silent Omnitool.

Siria desperate gaze shot at her, as she entered the apartment, as if she hoped Aria could do something, but the Queen had experienced such pain herself, and knew that Tevos needed to find a way out of her grief alone. At least, as long she didn't hurt herself or someone else in the progress.

"Enough," she thundered from the door and Tevos simply looked up. Where man shudder in panic by Aria's appearance, she not even flinched. Their eyes met, then the Councilor looked away first.

"If you not eat something right away, I am forcing you to!" Tevos looked over to the table with a tray of food and then back to the Queen of Omega. She knew that Aria could do it, but it would not be nice for both of them. She slowly got up and walked past her to the table, sat down and began to eat.

Aria resisted the impulse to destroy something and grabbed Siria on the shoulder, then she pushed the young asari into the bedroom. "If she only misses one meal, you call me."

Siria agreed. "Why is it so hard for her? I barely recognize Madame Councilor anymore."

Aria closed the door and crossed her arms. "If two asari bind that goes deeper than a bond with someone from another species. You may have noticed that the melt are also different?"

Siria sat down on the bed and smiled. "I am not really experienced and thought that was because of you."

Aria grinned at her current sexual partner. "Flatterer," she murmured.

Siria blushed deeply and then cleared her throat. "But yes, it's all easier."

Aria nodded. "And since Liara is a pureblood, it becomes even more deepened and there it was all still very fresh between them, Tevos feels inwardly dead. It's the same when you lose your child, it breaks you in half." Aria had suppress her own memories which floated her mind after this words.

Siria looked at her quizzical. "Was it not cruel to persuade them into a binding then?"

Aria negated. "What has happened, has happened, and she would never have left the Citadel. T'Soni lives ... she would never do me a favor and just die ... to make me the next Shadow Broker. It is due the fucking portal that no message arrives." She opened the door and looked outside. Tevos plate was empty on the table as if she wanted to prove that she had eaten, and she sat again on her bed, her head down on her hands, and waiting. Aria was grinding her teeth, but at least this concern was going on.

nine months after the Reapers

A long cry welcomed Aria as she entered her flat. Tevos had refused to leave the apartment to get to give birth to her child at the provisional hospital. The original one had been destroyed in the attack of the Reaper, as well as almost all medical reserves had been drawn into the universe. Without a decompression protection they got destroyed. As stubborn as Tevos was, she also denied any painkiller.

Aria looked at the bustle around the two doctors, then they discovered her and came close, pointed her to follow, and preceded her to her own kitchen.

"She will not make it ... and if she dies, we lose the child as well."

Aria's face flashed with anger. "Then safe her, if it's a matter of treatment, I have some additional supply’s... "

The doctor looked her straight in the eye, something only very few dare, and shook her head. Aria massaged her temples with her right hand as pain pulsed behind them. " Physically, everything is fine, there should be no problems, but ... only between you and me, she gave up." Aria took her hand from her forehead and looked urgently at the doctor. "We need her, but ... I have often experienced it, she sees it as her way out. Only without Madame Councilor .... what will become of us?" The asari sounded lost and Aria took a deep breath. "We have neither the right medication, yet we could care for the child, it would starve to death. We have no substitutes and no other nursing asari on the station. I told her, but she did not even respond."

Aria was grinding her teeth, then she nodded, very slowly and went around the doctor to look at the disaster. Tevos face was contorted with pain, but she also let anyone close to her. Even Siria did not dare to come near the wild, through the pain, twitching biotics. But as she saw Aria in her eyes awake new hope.

Aria went to the Tevos which tried to get away from her, but another contraction stopped her movement. The Queen of Omega knelt behind her, pulled her into her arms, and let her minds melt. Aria was surprised that Tevos allowed it. She had been set to a harder struggle, but apparently Tevos lacked the strength. Aria was totally overwhelmed by the mess out of pain, loss and grief, and she took a moment to herself .

"Let me go," Tevos pleaded while her body cramped. Aria felt like it tore her apart and protected them by a mental shield, but also lessened the pain that Tevos felt.

"I wont let you go that easy ... you are going through this and take care for your child." Aria felt the tears that dripped into her collar as Tevos half turned to her.

"Can you not just behave uninterested like usual? Or Disappear ? I can't go on like this, every day I see how the asari put their hope in me, but I can't be their guide ... I want to sleep."

Aria breathed in and out slowly and forced Tevos by this do the same. The pain was now less, but then Aria was aware that she would also feel the birth herself. Her body reacted right now and imitated the changes in Tevos, and she was covered in sweat. "No. I will not tolerate a horde of  hopeless, depressed Asari on my station, just because you're too cowardly. And what about the child? It is just as well T'Soni's ... I think the little girl is still alive, but if not, then she died in the knowledge that you and your daughter will be in safety and you throw it away?"

She felt a sense of hope and helped Tevos through the next contraction. She was now bathed herself in sweat and the leather of the corset squeezed her in the side. "We always receive back signals from the portal. Energy peaks, as if someone tries to activate it. Without the portal news from Earth needs hell of a lot time."

Tevos scooped hope and Aria went on, until the first cry of a raging Newborn cut the air. Aria slowly dissolved from the melt and breathed heavily us out. Her heart raced and she felt as if she had once taken a sprint over the full length of the station in one. She observed how the doctor laid a little newborn wrapped in soft cushions into Tevos's arms. The Councilor looked at the small - like all asaribabys - still pale violet newborn, then looked to Aria and her green eyes were swimming with tears. "Thank you," she whispered.

Another six months later ( 1 year, three months after the Reapers )

"By the Goddess give her a name ..." Aria frowned, and looked at Tevos and the small asari . "We can not call her the rest of her life baby ..." Tevos chuckled over the heads of little one, pressed a kiss on the child's forehead and said nothing. Aria was grinding her teeth, stood up, and dressed on her white jacket. "And you have to finally to move out..." She only got a shake of head in response and exhaled annoyed. When she was at the door Tevos cleared her throat.

"Aleena ..." she said , looking from baby to Aria. The Queen of Omega slowly turned around and Tevos smiled warm.

"Aleena T'Soni?" Aria laughed dryly and shook her head. "You have a strange sense of humor, but Aleena sounds good." Then she left the apartment and Siria took her place on the chair, snuggled into the still remaining heat.

"What does she mean?"

Tevos leaned back, and pulled the blanket over herself and her daughter. "Aleena is Arias birth name."

Sirias eyes widened in understanding. "A nice name."

1 year and six months after the Reapers.

"Aria we receive a signal from the mass portal." Ahz sounded excited and his eyelids twitched. "A massive pulse of energy and ..." he tapped a few things on his terminal, and Aria looked at him annoyed, knowing that it would bring nothing to push him. "… A single ship has flown through the portal and the values... are stable, from the portal, not from the ship and ... Aria it's back online." His voice broke and Aria closed her eyes, relief gushed through her body.

"What's with the ship"

Ahz blinked. "Asking for docking permission."

Aria frowned. " Identify it, and guide it to the docking bay two." She turned on her heels and made her way to the next elevator, and as she reached the docking bay the door of the very battered -looking little ship opened. Aria was surprised that it had even flown, it was battered, covered by bullet holes which had been poorly patched up, and it smoked. The door opened very slowly and, as the scanner had already indicated, a single person left.

T'Soni had also seen better days Aria thought, as she observed the asari. She had scars in her face as of burns, her white blue jacket was torn, and her eyes flashed when she saw Aria. The Queen of Omega nodded, waited while she came closer, and then was surprised when Liara hugged her.

"By the Goddess ... I ... is she alive?" The look in Liara's blue eyes was desperate and so intense that Aria allowed the close contact and nodded. She stabilized Liara with a handle on the hip as she threatened to sink to her knees. " I could not come earlier, we had to repair the portals and ..." she gushed. Aria pushed her toward the elevator. "Then it will now remain open? " Liara nodded. " Yes , I just wish it would have gone faster."

Aria leaned with her shoulder against the wall and waited. She was accustomed that elevator rides on Omega took minutes, but Liara's nervousness increased with every moment. She looked around, rolled her shoulders. When the door opened, and they still had to walk a little, she looked everywhere, just not at Aria. " And she's really okay?"

Aria paused again , put her two hands on her shoulders, and nodded. "Tevos and your daughter are doing well. Even if Tevos had a lot fun with to drive me insane. You owe me more than just one favor!"

Liara smirked, but then the words seeped into her brain. "Daughter," the smile spread and her face lit up. "I have a daughter?"

Aria took a deep breath and was looking for a patience in herself that she barely felt. "Yes, if Tevos has not gone strange is that your child ..." Liara 's expression was confused and Aria patted her on the back. "So ? Will you continue to stand around here or do you want to your family ? "

When the door opened they only saw Siria slowly got up looking at Liara with big eyes. Aria put a finger over her lips, Siria nodded and then came to her, a wide grin on her lips. She stroked over Liara's arm, then pointed in the direction of the small room in which Tevos was. Aria pulled Siria close and then out of the apartment.

"That was sweet, you could have give Tevos a little warning, but instead..."

Aria looked at the asari in her arms and narrowed her eyes. "Sweet?," she said indignantly, but Siria just nodded.

"Yes ... who would have thought, that the Queen of Omega also has a romantic side ... " Aria growled and pushed her against the wall, but Sirias hands slid down her flankes.

"It is time that you all disappear again," Aria cursed, but Siria only laughed.

"No, I think I'll keep you ..." she smiled lasciviously and Aria raised an eyebrow.

"So .. you're thinking?"

Siria nodded seriously. "Yes ... and since you shared the bed, for one and a half years, with no one else ... I think that it will please you too." She put a hand in Aria's neck and massaged seductively the soft folds.

Aria looked just speechless at her, but then she suddenly realized that had the little was right. She took her by the waist and hold her tight. Siria moved even closer and their lips met. " Face it Aria T'Loak, your ass is mine now," Aria laughed. "Caution ... " she threatened, "your not the first one who believed that," but her voice was full of sympathy and they kissed, slowly and seductively.

...

Liara walked the last few steps to the half-open door, and her legs felt like rubber. She had needed so long to come to here and now it was time. She put her hand against the door and opened it.

"I need nothing now Siria ... " but then Tevos failed the voice as she saw that it was not her assistant and friend who opened the door, but her bondmate. She stared wide-eyed at Liara, hid the infant on her shoulder and then looked at baby. "Liara?" Her voice was full of repressed emotions, but also doubts whether it was not just an other dream again.

But then Liara nodded. "I have promised you," she said and went to her, looked from Tevos green eyes to her daughter, and her legs could no longer hold her. She slumped to the floor and tears welled up in her eyes as she knelt before Tevos and her the child.

"Liara, may I introduce your daughter? Aleena T'Soni."

Liara looked dumbfounded at the subtle contours of the face of the child, which curiously observed her as well. The eyes shone in a deep, rich blue like her own. Liara raised her hand and stroked gently over the small crest. Then she looked at Tevos and her eyes burned, she snuggled her cheek in the open palm f her bondmate. Tevos slid to the floor, knelt, and carefully and gently they kissed. With their forehead leaning against each other they stretched their minds and melted deep. Both could not hold back the tears, when she finally became one and their souls united again.

Before them lay an uncertain future and they knew hardly what the next day would bring. The asari were scattered throughout the galaxy, and rebuild their society would take a long time. They would need to find a new home for their people, and start from scratch. But at that moment it did not matter. They had each other. The time of loneliness, doubt, and emptiness were over. Liara had returned to her and would stay.

And together, together they could, and would create the time after the Reapers, to make it their time, and give their people a secured future.
