  It was getting dark and Gloria was about to head back to her room, when a lone figure by the pond caught her eye. Heath? Curious, she padded over to him, legs working in perfect synchronization. When she reached him, though, something seemed wrong.. instead of his usual cocky grin, the expression on the Auri's face was almost... sad? She took a few more hesitant steps. Heath heard her, but didn't move from the rock he sat atop.
  “What do you want?” he demanded, and Gloria was struck by how different he seemed: gone was the confident, carefree Auri she knew, and instead there was bitterness, sadness, and resentment. Gloria took a step back, uncertain. “I -”
  “If you’re going to watch me like everyone else, go away.” Heath turned his back on her, laying his head on his paws. “I want to be alone.”
  “That’s not why I’m here,” Gloria responded, deciding to risk coming closer. Heath still didn't turn around, but she noticed one of his ears prick a little. “I saw you were alone and wondered what was wrong, if anything was. I can leave if you want, of course,” she added flicking her tail.
  “No, it’s fine.” Heath shrugged. “So… what’s wrong?” Gloria asked, approaching his rock.
